Somewhat related to that last post...

Another win for the music industry that went so hard on streaming, slop and lofi chill beats. It's another capitalism classic, lads!

10 years to the day that satan went northwards and played in Reykjavik alongside Olafur Arnalds' techno band, Kiasmos. I'd fly back 2 days later (my birthday no less), nursing the worst hangover I've ever had. Great times. Here I am down by the harbour, pissing about:

Joe Don Baker in Edge of Darkness is absolutely fantastic btw, and if you've never seen it - you should 100% seek it out. Great article about the making of it here: wearecult.rocks/be-strong-li...

Just having a look through my PRS for this period and spotted a tune had somehow had quite a few plays on a popular social media network, and then had a quick squizz at the millions I'd no doubt make from it lol:

Woke up with that Tim and Eric sketch where Frank Stallone sings to his daughter about how he's turning her bedroom into a computer room stuck in my head: www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7Hl...

Yeah, this is right up there as one of the best things I've heard recently. It's so good!

There's an episode of Baywatch where Mitch (Hasselhoff) dreams he's on a talk show and messes it up, but if you reverse it and add Angelo Badalamenti music, it's straight out of Twin Peaks

It's my birthday on Saturday, so have some d/l codes to Time Lapse to celebrate: lswk-xmzv eb42-kb7z cwyj-j9vr r4nt-bnkh dcdt-xjzv xazq-5s86 q6t6-bsbk 93nk-wld9 zd5t-hawt yq6t-vbdb yg33-6cxw 2kx5-kxes worriedaboutsatan.bandcamp.com/yum

This is definitely related to being over 40, as I found myself doing this exact same thing the minute I left my 30s. Feels great to just think 'ah you know what, nah fuck it' haha.

Fill your boots folks. If you feel like buying something, the CD of The Pivot is stupidly cheap on Bandcamp. Like, it's less than the download on it's own cheap.

Just catching up with all the UK political news (evergreen screencap)

Did everyone see our live footage from the other week? It's good! Audio recorded properly so sounds a million dollars too: youtu.be/X7m40xPl1-o

"here mate, you got any of that 16ft medieval sub bass stuff? Or maybe a bit of 8ft dulcet bass?"

Went to a big stately home thing near Hull at the weekend and almost recreated that Orb album cover

About the only thing that hasn't risen with inflation over the past 20 or so years is the standard £50 first on support slot fee. Forget Freddos, that's the real recession indicator.

Went to see Kilnsea Sound Mirror today - mad that some WW1 acoustic technology is just sat in some wetlands. Absolutely brilliant and picked a reet old day for it too.

"With platforms like Spotify, Meta and Amazon flourishing in the ‘enshittification era’ while both creators and consumers suffer (while stockholders profit), choosing how we spend our time, money, energy and attention becomes critical in how culture evolves." The Great Spotify Swindle:

Yeah, you gotta stop just going along with it. All the stats and numbers in the world won't make up for them ripping off your stuff to train their silly little computers for free. Fuck them all off and be free haha

It’s a wrap

Going back in on one of my favourite albums from one of my favourite bands of all time - the Icelandic new wavey/ post rocky/ sort-of-indie band Kimono: kimono.bandcamp.com/album/easy-m...

Been thinking about this post for a couple of days. Also been enjoying the Pitchfork series where they ask artists for their 10/10 album recs. I've found some great records Hard not to feel like old man shouting at clouds but really do try and find out about music and art from other people 1/2
