Another day of playing with the Wren! As it was International Women's Day, decided to do some coaching and encourage some of the staff to have a drive - as the world absolutely needs more people driving small steam engines Also bonus Piper content.

involuntarily imagining this engine with the voice of Nigel Thornberry

Played the demo of A Bumpy Ride yesterday, a very cute train game on Steam store.steampowered.com/app/3056840/... Will share my thoughts in this thread (1/?)

Fun little trivia fact for Monday After the ex-LBSCR loco works in Brighton ceased rail work, the premises were used to build a more unusual vehicle - Isettas! Between 1957 and 1962, these had to be transported out of the rail-locked works by rail leading to such unusual sights as the below!

Another day of driving the little Wren at Kew On a darker note, have been dealing with an attempt at bullying in a heritage railway. The railways are handling it well but as a PSA: if you want to encourage volunteers and make friends, don't be a dick! Equally, if you are being bullied- speak up!

Another day at the museum, spent most of it talking to families so didnt get many pics! Enjoy 2 Dolgochs + bonus long Piper

I don't have many "collections" of things - I'm living the minimalist life, without really trying - but I am particularly proud of my Lego Monsters and my Boy Racers, as they were paid for by doing commission work for friends 👹 🏎️

he's a little lost

Broke: "Just another MK1" Woke: "Oh, it's one of those" Bespoke: "Oh shit it's THAT"

A fun morning shuttling up and down with a pregrouping mixed passenger and goods train for a photo charter VERY early 4am start though!

think this is the single best book cover ever David J Leider really understood the assignment

okay but why are couillets the least serious locos ever

As much as I don't want to plug temu, i was gifted these Class 47 socks and I have to admit: I adore them

Happy new year to you all! Have seen out the year playing with steam trains of various sizes and happy to say that a decade after starting out my journey in rail preservation, I'm now qualified to drive at 1 & fire on 2 lines! Hope that you all have a good 2025 and that we achieve our resolutions!

Tried a new trick: cooking marshmallows in the firebox! Now tempted to try it on the bigger stuff....

Went to the Royal Armouries Museum for work and honestly, loved it! Wish I could've spent more time there, a huge range of fascinating exhibits (and not often a day of work ends in two guys hitting each other with swords)

most foreboding sign i could've seen today

New toy! It's a Roundhouse Carrie, modified by its previous owner who was into Congolese railways apparently I have SAR coaches from the same owner so a reunion should be in the cards as soon as I get to run on another layout.....

cinematic parallels

Spent today playing with a little Wren! A rare engine that makes the TR locos feel big

So what's my deal? I work on the Talyllyn and Bluebell Railway as a passed cleaner and fireman I've had the privilege of playing with many a fun engine; the number of people who've worked on a terrier, Scotsman and the TR fleet is not zero but probably fairly small!

hello everyone welcome to my page
