Loved this deep dive for Sleng Teng’s (belated!) 40th.

Pope Fetuccine 1981

Once again, a big thanks to John who managed to make me sound like someone who didn't fail his English GCSE and in fact can write in joined up handwriting

This was the 3rd article in a row where I've found @birmingham81.bsky.social's insight and archives invaluable. Thanks again, Andy!

In honour of Sleng Teng’s 40th anniversary, I’ve gone to great lengths to uncover why today isn’t Sleng Teng’s 40th anniversary. Read it in @thequietus.com thequietus.com/opinion-and-...

Forensics have been in and traced the DNA on Loaded. Great work.

Wow!

I'm sure I told this one on Twitter, but when this came out I was at art school in Camberwell where a guy who fancied himself as some kind of music impresario had heard I played percussion. I was up for playing on anything at the time, so I went to meet meet him on a break in the college cafeteria

This is such a terrific look at those early days of Primal Scream, how Weatherall, Gillespie, McGee came together (ha) and how Loaded came to be. . Also - and i had no idea - prompted me to look up the Mystic Moods Orchestra track from 1973. "The Seventh Plane" . Well fancy that.

Just seen the Boy's Own issue from '89 with Weatherall's comment about Primal Scream's ballads (thanks @stewartnolan.com for digging this up) and I love the fact it's followed by World Peace by BDP
