I mean I get it. Fraud. Education. Medicaid and Medicare. Public education was given the green light to bill for SEMI for YEARS. We collect money from “the system” for every single service. That money does not always translate to quality services.

JUST IN: ProPublica’s “Life of the Mother” series, which exposes the fatal consequences of abortion bans, has won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. This is the second consecutive year we’ve been awarded this distinction and our eighth Pulitzer: www.propublica.org/series/life-...

THE PENTAGON BUDGET JUST HIT A TRILLION DOLLARS. Not a single pundit from either political party said “how are we going to pay for it?!” Don’t dare tell us we cannot ALL have healthcare, housing, and education.

This is Reggie and Pearl. Reggie holds the @guinnessworldrecords.com title for tallest dog living at 3 feet 3 inches. Pearl holds the title for shortest dog living at 3.59 inches. They just met for the first time for a playdate. 14/10 for both

Imagine getting an asylum appointment from the U.S. government, showing up for your scheduled appointment, and then getting deported to a foreign prison. That's what happened to Andry Romero. He deserves due process.

History matters

Good news: A federal court barred Border Patrol from stopping and arresting people using practices that violate the Constitution. We shouldn't have to live our lives in fear of being stopped by ICE. @ufw.bsky.social @aclu.org @aclu-norcal.bsky.social @sdicaclu.bsky.social

“Eugenics isn’t just about eradicating the lesser people like myself, like people with disabilities, it’s about attaching disability to marginalized communities in order to slate them for eradication.” Fantastic crash course in eugenics, ableism & anti-blackness from @imanibarbarin.bsky.social

Ok I am completely broken by this. The Hague and UN need to see this. #Texas

A hard fought victory, everyone clap for Emily and the other CO state team leaders! Without them this bill would NOT have passed! And a special thanks to @courtneymilan.com, too, who spoke at a press conference that was instrumental in getting this bill off the ground! GO AABB TEAM GO

With all the talk of product shortages , I think it should be said that products will first find their way to densely populated areas first and everywhere else, last This certainly will hurt all those red counties. How they react to their shelves being everything will define the midterms

Marriott’s CEO said it straight: “We welcome all… we create opportunities for all… that’s who we are as a company.” He went back to his hotel to find 40K emails from Marriott associates worldwide saying “thank you.” Plenty of CEOs talk. Capuano showed up. Marriott still has my business.

a friendly reminder never to buy your books from Amazon, where they are used as a loss leader so that you'll buy a flatscreen TV and your toilet paper instead-- and then use that money to send Katy Perry to space. Books aren't just products. They're culture. Buy them from those who understand that.

These monsters are anti-life. To hell with them and anyone who voted for them. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

There is ZERO CONVERSATION TO BE HAD when it comes to this topic as to why women are choosing not to have children. DO NOT OFFER THEM EXPLANATIONS. It’s, “the government needs to get TF out of my private life, and sacred decisions. FULL STOP.” This is sick & disturbing.

NEW damning details on Pete Hegseth: Minutes before U.S. jets hit Yemen, Gen. Kurilla sent strike intel through a secure gov system. Hegseth turned around and dropped it in at least two Signal chats—on his personal phone. Jet timing. Target locations. And he still has the job.

the american electoral system is basically 500,000 information-resistant people across a handful of states taking a guess and then going "haha! oops!" every two years. this process takes 18 months and costs four trillion dollars every time

You know the *only* reason he got out so fast was a reporter live posted about this for hours. And, a large amount of public pressure. Every time someone gets grabbed, there has to be a robust public response immediately.

The majority of registered voters in America did not vote for a president or Congress who would protect Democracy, so the majority of registered voters cannot demand them to stop the horrors they said they would commit if given the power to do so. I demand the majority of voters do something.

INCREDIBLE opinion by Wilkinson refusing to stay Judge Xinis's orders in the Abrego Garcia case, condemning DOJ's arguments as "shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that Americans far removed from courthouses still hold dear." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Newly published #OpenAccess article examines the effects of conversation treatment for individuals with chronic aphasia and whether the pattern of changes on outcome measures differed when treatment was delivered in large groups compared to dyads.

A state judge in Idaho — which has one of the strictest abortion bans in the nation — appeared to slightly broaden access to abortion there on Friday. In situations where a mother faces risk of death, the ruling allows for abortions even when death isn’t imminent.

Chasten and I are relieved that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe. While we wait to learn more, this much is clear: the targeting of a public official and his family - especially a prominent Jewish official on a major Jewish holiday - is unconscionable and has no place in our country.

Child, adult COVID survivors more likely to have heart disease, symptoms, data suggest. New studies from the U.S. and Poland show COVID-19's heart impact: infected children have higher risks of issues like high blood pressure and heart failure, while adults often face lasting heart symptoms.

“Do autistic people need support? Absolutely! ‘Disabled’ is not a dirty word, and it is not shameful to acknowledge that many autistic people require support specifically as a result of our autistic neurotype.” Tips from autistic psychologist Amy Marschall: www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/neur...

While it is important to understand how ADHD & Autism can present when "together" we must remember that these diagnoses are really a myth to make it make sense These are NOT to illnesses stamped onto brains w/ inevitable presentation of a given symptom set It's ONE naturally occurring neurotype 🧵

I'm sad to say that there was a brutal purge of NIH training grants yesterday and a lot of young scientists in New Jersey are now going to be without funding. Many of the grants supported people from nontraditional backgrounds (e.g. transferring from community colleges) or underrepresented groups.
