@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social Threatening to shut the government down sounds good, but what happens then. Trump has control of Treasury, what stops him from writing checks from un-appropriated funds? At that point, he becomes a dictator. Of course then bonds self-destruct and US is in chaos.

@andrewrsorkin.bsky.social I am not hearing anyone ask what a trillion dollar reduction in the federal gov't will do to the economy. Keeping in mind that the fed gov't is 23% of the GDP and a trillion dollar reduction is 14% of the budget.

The GAO reports to Congress. They have top accountants and IT professionals that continually look for fraud, waste and resource abuse. Why are taxpayers paying Musk to pretend to do the same with unqualified kids with ties to China & Russia?
