I think a lot about the ending of The Zone of Interest, lately. Specifically when Höss is alone, and he unsuccessfully forces himself to vomit. Like a deluded attempt to prove his own humanity.

A fantastic piece by @chriscoplan.bsky.social, and something that really stuck out to me was his question of books being made to cater to a new, younger generation of readers. This is very important to me, and I wish creators took it seriously.

Sincerely curious. With the inevitable increase in single issue comic prices, what would readers want out of a 32 page issue that would justify a 4.99$ price tag? Speaking mostly for indie books where we're not filling it with ads if we don't need to. Obviously story, but what about extras?

I think something that worries me about the Ghibli AI stuff is that it's proving to be a wakeup call to a lot of artists/art communities who are only now realizing how large a percent of the population views artistic work as meaningless disposable "product".
