An update on the TikTok situation from our monitoring on Reddit. Now you get TOS'ed for saying negative comments about meta and Zuckerberg, left-wing politics get flagged as misinformation, and you can't tag #fucktrump #fuckelon or #fuckmeta but you CAN tag #fuckbiden and #fuckkamala

As 2025 begins, so does the year’s first full moon, which also marks the last of four consecutive supermoons, according to NASA. Known as the “wolf moon,” it gets its name from the idea that wolves howl during January’s long, cold nights.

Two new litters of baby bunnies around here. Both does are doing great. We actually evened out the numbers because Cheesecake seems to make a ton of milk and she had the smaller litter. Her babies always look fit to bursting!

Baby bunny streeeeetch.

If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution. Emma Goldman

So there might be a decided lack of cats on Bluesky. So respond with a cat picture, yours or someone else's. That way we can have cats and existential dread!

I am at 144 books read for this year! I just finished re-reading Trapped by Kevin Hearne on my Iron Druid re-read. I'm also reading The Chaos Machine by Max Fisher. I'm taking guesses on how many books I'll finish before 2025. I'm also taking suggestions on books I need to read!

@parkroseperma.bsky.social made this excellent video about post election boundaries and why a lot of us aren't feeling like giving time and access to people who voted against our interests. "you voted for us to lose our rights, so now you lose access to us." -Angela youtu.be/kmMHtQyZsZI?...

I live on land that belongs to the dxʷsəq̓ʷəbš (Suquamish). It is good to take a moment and reflect, as white people, on our role as colonizers and the atrocities left in our wake. It makes me feel small and powerless, but it also makes me want to do better and give back more than I take.

Phew! It's been a long morning of cooking and baking. Now comes the car ride and then to enjoy the fruits of our labors with family. May you all get to enjoy a moment of respite and give gratitude!

Autism isn’t a disease or an epidemic. It’s not something to fear or to prevent. If “combating autism” seems like a worthy political goal to you, you’re either a eugenicist, or you’ve been deceived by eugenicists. #Autistic

They'll be coming for LGBTQIA and BIPOC charities if this passes, saying they fun ANTIFA or some nonsense. Write and call to stop it before it can start.

I had a moment of existential dread yesterday after I heard an updated report on transmission of bird flu to humans and a possible human to human transfer. I shut down for a few minutes because my brain couldn't handle the idea of another pandemic under Trump with RFK as his side kick. 😱

Lesson 8, On Tyranny: "Stand out. Someone has to. It is easy to follow along. It can feel strange to do or say something different. But without that unease, there is no freedom...the moment you set an example, the spell of status quo is broken and others will follow." - Timothy D. Snyder

Okay, y’all… I have finally decided that retreat is the better part of valor. Bringing some rainbow energy over to these blue skies. #bydhttmwdi

My PNW friends, please be aware we have a cyclone coming and should expect winds up to 80mph with storm surges to 25ft. It also looks like I'm in for 6" of rain. watchers.news/2024/11/18/b...

Anyone wanting justice for Matt Gaetz should make a call and ask for report to be released. The public and the senators approving his appointment should know just what a horrible POS he is for trafficking teenagers.

I've been thinking about what I want this space to be and I think it's just going to be whatever my AuDHD brain produces. I might talk about knitting, gardening, farming, personal life struggles, having, books I'm reading or whatever. So buckle up if you are following along here.
