"Feeling morally superior at the cruelty of our opponents it easy. Doing something about it is hard." My latest piece on the Trump administration's weaponization of political terror as public policy: instruggle.substack.com/p/cruelty-is...

"This is not the first time the United States has whipped itself into an all-consuming frenzy on the hunt for immigrants and dissidents...And yet… we are still here. We will survive. We will grow. And we will win." Latest 🔥from @xandrewleex.bsky.social.

This is an official plan for ethnic cleansing. If you supported Israel for the past 18 months or so under the assumption that this was about the hostages you were taken for a ride. If you still support Israel's assault on Gaza, you support ethnic cleansing. It's that simple.

"We, those who continue the fight for liberation, are part of a long, unbroken chain of struggle that empire has been unable to extinguish despite its best efforts." From my latest, on the current wave of political repression as the Third Red Scare. Read more at instruggle.substack.com.

"One awaits the revolution in vain, for it is already underway." —Jacques Camatte, 1935-2025

Another helpful article! "[W]e do not have an administration that’s going to be shamed out of its malpractices by public disapproval. They are sending senior members to pose for photo ops in a Salvadoran concentration camp. This isn’t some nefarious plot to expose. It’s a sadistic victory lap."

"There’s another tradition of organized resistance that doesn’t depend on convincing, persuading, or strong-arming the powerful into meeting our demands. It’s the tradition of direct action."

"We in the imperial core have many privileges. We do not, at this historical moment, have the privilege of cowardice." Latest from @xandrewleex.bsky.social instruggle.substack.com/p/the-end-of...

New executive order dropped. It's called "STRENGTHENING AND UNLEASHING AMERICA’S LAW ENFORCEMENT TO PURSUE CRIMINALS AND PROTECT INNOCENT CITIZENS." The section pictured here is particularly concerning. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

“There’s another tradition of organized resistance that doesn’t depend on convincing, persuading, or strong-arming the powerful into meeting our demands. It’s the tradition of direct action…We do not, at this historical moment, have the privilege of cowardice.”

"There will be a revolution or there will not. If the latter these poems were nothing but entertainments. If the former it will succeed or fail. If the latter these poems were better than nothing." —Joshua Clover

“They proclaimed their principles during the terrible year spent on the threshold of death; they proclaimed them on the scaffold, and they hailed the day on which they died for those principles as the happiest of their lives.” May Day is every day.

My latest piece looks at the prospects for protest under right-wing authoritarianism. Today more than ever, direct action gets the goods. Read more: instruggle.substack.com/p/the-end-of...

"why aren't more people protesting" probably because the largest palestine solidarity movement in US history was met with unfathomable political repression and a bipartisan consensus to actually make things worse??

We also need to constantly address the ways that criminalization is used to render people disposable. Every response is "well I thought they would only do X to the criminals."

"Each adoptee has been born twice and died once." From "Baby Heists" for @newinquiry.bsky.social thenewinquiry.com/baby-heists/

I find the common talking point that anarchists assume everyone is as nice as them strange. I'm a pessimist who has learned from numerous horrific life experiences that people can treat each other terribly and that's exactly why nobody should be given vast amounts of power over others.

I was going to write "food stamps should only cover gruel" but gruel is actually not EBT eligible unless it's already cold

Viewing Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s case as one simply about the lack of “rule of law” and “due process” is a problem when the courts and political system have demonstrated their willingness to authorize horrors with full judicial approval, as well. Read more: instruggle.substack.com

I would like to take this opportunity to offer an olive branch to Harris/Walz 2024 presidential campaign: We’re not going back is the most important slogan of our times. Read more at instruggle.substack.com

At $20 million over budget, the Atlanta city government is preparing to make major cuts to services that people depend on. But over the past three years, they have channeled additional tens of millions towards #CopCity. They don't care about us—only about policing us. crimethinc.com/CopCity2025

It is the air of atrocity An event as ordinary As a President. A plume of smoke, visible at a distance In which people burn —George Oppen

"“Participation in electoral politics organized by the enemy state is the opposite of revolution. It's a tactic for the ultra-rightists. With history as a guide we could never make such monumental errors.” —George Jackson

The secret history of revolutionary change is the preponderant role of middle schoolers. With Trump cracking down on student activists, what does comprehensively supporting youth organizing actually mean? substack.com/home/post/p-...

turns out when you legitimate a taste for bigotry people gravitate to the parties that serve it as an entree rather than as a garnish

I have a friend who needs a stem cell transplant pretty urgently. The donor has to be of Asian descent and under 40 living in the U.S. I am praying that we can find the right match. If that's you or someone you know, please reach out to me. Thanks in advance.

"There is a lot to mourn and/or organize about. But capitalist DEI isn’t one of those things. The far-right is flooding the zone with all manner of evil, reactionary shit. We need to pick our battles if we’re going to win." Latest from @xandrewleex.bsky.social instruggle.substack.com/p/corporate-...

"Morale is a terrain of struggle."

Post-election left-liberal self help is wild?? Self care and starting a community garden or whatever else is chill but if you asked your grandparents what they did in N@zi Germany and they were like we resisted through SELF CARE and COMMUNITY GARDENING you'd be like oh cool you were literal N@zis

As a renowned DEI advocate of API heritage once said: Everything under heaven is in chaos. The situation is excellent.

Defying Displacement came out one year ago today. Devastatingly, it's more relevant than ever. But I'm deeply appreciate for all the new friends and comrades who've engaged with the textin the struggle against displacement. www.akpress.org/defying-disp... Two new, thoughtful reviews below

what if no amount of speaking truth to power could bring it down if the cruelty was the point dispossession, the objective annihilation, the plan what if we spoke honestly about precisely what is at stake at least to each other at least to ourselves

"To speak and write with unashamed candor To reject despair as a privilege of the disinterested To take care of myself and others, to let others care for me" More at instruggle.substack.com/p/resolution...
