So, a little late in my reporting. Last weekend, my Best Friend and I played with the Slinky Antenna I built the weekend before. I did not have the Slinky directly attached to the 9:1 balun but I did have a 9" jumper wire. Using my NanoVNA-H, I got ok-ish SWR. After many trials and errors... 1/2

Over the weekend, my Best Friend and I built a slinky antenna. It is on a 19ft fiberglass pole with a 9:1 balun. It is tuneable with my radio. I didn't get a chance to try it out. Heard a lot. I will try it again this weekend and report back. #amateurradio #hamradio

It is late and I am tired. Long travel day. After the cafe, we drove, got lost and off Old Route 66, got back on, and found the Rolla Antique Mall...which was awesome by the way. After a few hours today, my end-fed 6m-40 and 2m/70cm antennas are up and are hooked into my Icom 7100. Already played around a little with D-STAR and on 70cm. Now to research my radio, /again/, to get back into Amateur Radio. This is going to be some fun research! 📻

I profess myself to be a Geek, as my Bio says. Case in point: I run Garuda Linux on my may Desktop and play Steam games. I used my Macbook Air 2017 model to run Steam and stream my games to it. I then streamed my Macbook to my Roku with AirPlay to show a game to my Fiance. I didn't want to move. 🤪

I am proud of myself. On Dec. 7, 2023, my Team Lead at work got promoted and I applied to her position, got an interview the next day and was told that I can't get it even tho I was a favored choice. I am not sad I didn't get it. I put myself out there and tried. To me, that is what counts. :)

My Fiancé's cousin gave our good boi a little fleece cape that attaches by Velcro around the neck and waist. He has been wearing it for a couple days now off and on and loves it! It keeps him warm and he gets just as excited to wear that as he does with his harness when we go for a walk.
