I don't know how, but the Spotify app on my Mac manages to play unstoppable and unending music at full volume during an ad. It doesn't stop when the ad break is over, and it doesn't stop when I close Spotify. I have to Force Quit Firefox, which wasn't playing anything, to get it to stop.

I think I've found a way to articulate what bothers me about the trajectory of the modern tech industry (and to some extent... society). We are on this Earth to provide for each other. That's the "mission" of humanity as I see it. This is incompatible with what the tech industry seeks to do.
