“I’m just a girl that can’t say ‘no’” How difficult is it for these MPs and political parties to just say “NO. Thank you for offering, but it’s obvious why we can’t accept”. Most of us in public service have danced that dance numerous times.

Not many people know that it was actually ME inside that KING KONG costume in the classic movie! Unfortunately me got SACKED just because me AD-LIBBED a few lines of dialogue...🙄

Fatass Beagle has gone. We were with her and she went quickly and peacefully. I’m heartbroken.

A pleasant evening's astronomy done. Mars, Sirius and Jupiter still looking mighty fine, and caught a shooting star. Let's slap on a bit of Star Trek TNG and call the day a win.

I’ve been hacked over in the other place, which in one way is rather a blessing. The process of trying to sort it out is, however, exasperating. This tweet (which a friend screenshot and sent) did make me laugh though, so that’s something!

Musk threatens to shut off Starlink if Ukraine doesn’t sign the minerals deal - that’s extortion. If Starlink is used as a foreign policy tool to undermine European security, it should be banned from the EU market, says Janis Kluge from the German Institute for international and Security Affairs.

This basically implies that no other nation is allowed to regulate its own markets and denies their sovereignty. It's mental and will, in the end, lead to the world decoupling from the US

My dad's giving up driving today, 2 months shy of his 91st birthday. On Monday they're selling the car. On 1 hand it's a relief: he's only driven on rural byroads for years now but his reactions aren't fast enough to avoid sudden danger. On the other hand the loss of independence is tough for them.
