Experimenting with a wound system in Dragon Ruins II: Aftermath. Downed characters can suffer from a long-term injury that will take a while to recover from. Resting in town will heal their wounds after a while, but you might need to have a few backup characters at the ready.

This muted palette is *chef's kiss*.

it's that time of the year

I realized I had CyberMage installed in case I want to replay it. What a game.

Everyone knows Deus Ex is one of the most important games ever, so I'll use its 25th anniversary to highlight another game: CyberMage: Darklight Awakening. It's a 1995 immersive sim led by David Bradley (Wizardry V-VII), Warren Spector & Harvey Smith - a forgotten stepping stone towards Deus Ex!

I hope I'll release the Dragon Ruins II standalone expansion by the end of the summer.

Mr. Heli no Daibouken was an obscure shoot-'em-up from Irem that broke most of the rules: you often had control over the scrolling and your power ups were purchased with money you found on stages. youtu.be/1ZoFd8LiUJ4

The iconic key visual for The Tower of Druaga was a collaborative effort by Namco's publicity team. The team created several dioramas and placed in little cell-shaded illustrations of the characters before photographing and airbrushing in effects to create the finished art we know today!

Reposted the Ringlorn Saga postmortem with a small update. yomigael.substack.com/p/a-hydlide-...

Decided to launch my new blog. Gonna repost stuff from Blogspot in the next couple of days and post new stuff over time. yomigael.substack.com

It's that time of the year again.

Yo, Path of Abyss looks juicy for dungeon-crawling sickos! It's an indie Japanese DRPG, heavily inspired by Wizardry, but with an interesting real-time combat that mix a Grandia-like action timer with comboing skills. Cool presentation & ideas! Also, cheap! store.steampowered.com/app/1768650/...

What's a good platform to use for a personal blog these days? I used Blogspot in the past, but I wonder if there's something better.

If this game came out today, it would get mostly negative reviews because "decoding messages by hand in CURRENT YEAR??? WHERE IS THE DECODE BUTTON??? LAZY"

This game inspired Ringlorn Saga Gaiden, btw.

Dragon Ruins II soundtrack: chill dungeon synth with a bunch of experimental tracks Dragon Ruins II: Aftermath soundtrack: 90's Delerium-ass track next to what can be described as "Dark Souls boss battle with electric guitars"

if ai is so fucking great why can't it scrub my toilet

doing graphics tests on old maps while planning the new ones time to add some sewers

What do you expect from a Dragon Ruins II expansion?

About 1/3 of the soundtrack for the Dragon Ruins II expansion is complete.

Morituria is already pretty fun. Going about your business while knowing that a monster might be stalking you is quite tense, even at this stage.

Valkyrie Elysium feels like a spiritual successor to Chaos Legion.

Please don't give me ideas for a new Ringlorn Saga... www.youtube.com/watch?v=OipN...

Composed 5 tracks for Morituria so far. Finding the right music direction for this project took some time, but I'm enjoying the results. I wouldn't call it music in a traditional sense, but rather background noise associated with the area.
