“We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.” Brené Brown Just a little reminder - it may not always feel like it, but you are not alone. #kindness #positivity #love Picture by @euphoriathreadsco

My happy place. Green & purple weren't as messy & only made it to the piece. My small piece of furniture gets the most hopeful glow-up! I'm joining a super talented group of furniture refinishers for my first challenge entry in ages. Live on YouTube on 3/30. Details to follow! #ArtIsResistance #HOPE

Full-time creatives who make a living from their art, I have a question: Are you like me and spread your creativity around to multiple ventures (words, paint, sculpture,) or are you singularly focused? I like the brain-freeing method of working on what inspires while moving all forward. Thoughts?

Support an artist! Sharing their post means more eyes on their work. Liking their posts tells an algorithm to take notice. Shopping supports them directly. All are valid and really help!

Since Congress’s allotted funds have already been improperly unallocated, U.S. citizens are questioning whether they are legally required to continue paying federal taxes.

Well there wouldn't be an "energy emergency" if tariffs weren't just imposed on countries where we import some of our fuel. As I said on the other platform, I hope a baby bear vomits directly into his open mouth. Then I hope he meets mama bear. #thislandwasmyland

Hey guys I know it's really hard to be conscious of your health right now, so please remember that after every hour muttering “wtf” to yourself while scrolling on your phone you should stand up and banshee scream for at least 5 minutes to stretch out your lower back

On World Wildlife Day: "It's only natural to get down low like an animal and kiss the ground that you're walking on. It's a miracle that we're here at all." -Jason Mraz Today, I paint, write, and hike. These are the days I remind myself to remember when it all goes haywire. #naturelover

Adrian Brody throwing his chewed gum to his wife before taking the stage to accept the best actor award is the unhinged real moment we all needed right now. #oscars

It was the “omg what now” of times, it was the “I swear we’re not all like this” of times

A lot of people confuse writing with typing. Writing isn’t typing. It’s the entire process and yes that includes going for a walk or rearranging things in your office.

Never was particularly good at poker. As spotted at the thrift store last night. No, I didn't buy the shirt, that would've been redundant. Fired up and unafraid to show it.

Same.

See this "janky excuse" for a workstation? Guess what I plan to do in this tiny corner of this spare bedroom? Give up? I plan to complete draft one of my first best selling novel. That's what. #challengeaccepted #justwritethebook #authorsky

I've watched this video too many times since yesterday. The sheriff stepped away, to film the incident. Teresa Borrenpohl's rights were violated. Plain and simple. #firstamendmentrights www.ktvb.com/article/news...

This week? Hmm let's see... 1. Had lots of fun. 2. So much I could do. 3. You for me? 4. 'Cause, I can give you more. 5. Don't you know that the time has arrived? Huh? I'm self-employed and my manager thinks this is hilarious. #nkotb

Every artist I know is really struggling right now. Financially, emotionally, their confidence, in general. If you like an artist's work, support them any way you can. Buying their stuff or subscribing to their Patreon is great, but words of encouragement are also incredibly helpful.

“Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.” Brené Brown There’s bravery in showing up as we are, without guarantees - just the openness to connect. 🧡 #kindness #love (Picture by Katie Abey)

Saguaro are one of my favorite living things. They only grow in one place (Sonoran desert) and could be 75-100 before an arm appears. Talk about #resilience! They live in one of the driest places and house endless wildlife. We can learn from saguaro. Stand tall & #strong & shelter who you can. #love

If M-W is out for the wknd, I guess that means we're free to run amok! Or a race! Or across! Or a less awkward social media account than mine. #freakinweekend

Some updates: 1. A federal judge extended a restraining order blocking the National Institutes of Health from cutting research funds until she rules on a permanent injunction. 2. The IRS will not allow a member of Elon Musk’s team to access individual tax returns.

This! INSTEAD of a blackout, shop small, shop indie, throw all your money at an artist you enjoy! They might just pay a bill and not a billionaire with the money they make. I have a book listed in my bio, but if I'm not your cup of coffee, find artists who are and shop wildly! #supportsmallbusiness

Three updates: 1. The Justice Department has deleted a database tracking federal police misconduct. The database was first proposed in 2020 following the police killing of George Floyd.

A federal judge ruled in favor of the Trump administration, allowing it to proceed with mass terminations of probationary federal workers. The administration has already dismissed 6,700 employees from the IRS, with plans to lay off an additional 50,000 workers from the Defense Department next.

One danger of embracing generative AI as a learning device and in language assistance is that you're letting the keepers of that AI have power over what you learn and how you write. It will be programmed with biases, unintentional but often *quite* intentional, that you will unknowingly adopt.

The important thing right now is not to lose hope and become immobilized. With flooding the zone, that is precisely what they are hoping to do, to make you feel as if you have no voice. It is imperative that every single one of us stay informed and involved. 1/2

NY Gov. Kathy Hochul’s response: “We are a nation of laws, not ruled by a king. The MTA has initiated legal proceedings in the Southern District of New York to preserve this critical program. We’ll see you in court.”

Writers are #struggling right now because we couldn't have conceived a fiction plot so outrageous as what's happening in the U.S./E.U., and still somehow convinced readers to suspend their skepticism. We're all taken back by the level of disbelief we need to put on hold. Weird times. #writinglife

And the planning continues! Nobody is more surprised than me at how much I'm enjoying plotting out this paranormal rom-com Christmas series. Outlines. *swoon* #booksky #recoveringpantser #writingeveryday #letsgoooo 💙📚

“A little spark of kindness can put a colossal burst of sunshine into someone’s day.” Your thoughtful gestures can brighten someone’s day in unexpected ways. 🧡 #kindness #love #support Picture by Hallmark

I just wrote perhaps the funniest line of dialogue I've ever written, but I can't share it because I'm not yet sure which book in the series it'll end up gracing. This outline and notes thing sure is a fun way to go about writing a series. Wait... Did I just convert to a *gasp* #plotter?

A team of engineers who work for Musk’s SpaceX will visit the Federal Aviation Administration’s air traffic control system command center in Virginia as the Trump administration considers an overhaul of the agency, which was previously seen as exempt from government cuts.
