It was a struggle as I haven’t run a distance this long before, hence the PR for 10 miles. I just wanted to keep my per mile time in the 10 minute range which I barely did because of very slow miles 10 and 11.

Rimrock at Palisades Park and dirt roads were in good running condition today. The snowmelt flooding is mostly gone. Other trails were a mess, especially mud, as of yesterday. I will check them out again next week to see if conditions have improved. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, in Spokane, Wash.

OK Spokane people, if you go to Palisades Park stay on Rimrock for the next week or so. The trails around and below are a mess as are the trails in Indian Canyon Park. Mud, mud, mud. Snow, ice, snow, ice and eroded trails from flooding and runoff.

Tweaked my lower back yesterday morning. I kept staying active and stretching. Strength this morning including foot raised bridges during which I felt no lower back pain. 3 hikes and a run since yesterday morning. The pain is gone tonight. So that’s good.

If you are hiking or running on dirt trails around Spokane this week, I recommend you wear traction footwear and also shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. There are flooded areas, plenty of mud, along with leftover snow and ice.
