😭😭😭

Been doing this for so many years that they can play games, goof around, flub lines, and still flip the switch to be cool performers. Great to see all of them on stage together

Cinderella Gray airing in the slot immediately preceding nichigo, mainstream horsies era is here

Forgot to mention earlier but salomejou's first live was crazy good. Pseudo-musical where, even when transitioning to song covers, the acting furthered the classic overarching story. The pieces are recognizable but she has the ability to make you feel this is something that never existed before

Worth reiterating that Kusuriya #31 is fantastic. Beautifully structured around structures of power & how those trap people mentally and even physically. Peppered with clues but not so worried about the mechanics of storytelling to forget to be evocative Also, I don't think its lead creator exists?

Nothing like a nabeshin storyboard to make you wonder if a show has stepped into slightly the wrong era, in a good way

Series with a gag about someone's daughter having ditched Precure in favor of Aikatsu many years ago gets an animated adaptation with Precure still going on and Aikatsu effectively long dead. This says a lot about society

From intentionally standing around the stage to deflate the hype of other people's performances under the premise of not being sure what to do in a live event, to actually performing like cool people at a breathless pace, got that full Nanajigen Seitokai range covered. Fun Fes eve

Very excited about what Masaaki Yuasa might be up to with his new studio, but lol that the Variety puff piece about it mentions that it'll be part of "Tokyo's vibrant animation scene" which is true of the vast majority of studios & actually kind of a problem

This weekend we had Nara inheriting a massive hit, Mutobe's kantoku debut with Chiramune, a kuerun-designed series launching a PV… This is incomprehensible to most people but it's the old sakuga community's equivalent of the talented funny shitposters in your timeline all suddenly getting huge jobs

First Precure to fall for a phishing scam without even receiving a phishing email

Studio soigne is one of the most interesting 8bit offshoots so I hope they're not crushed under their own ambition - just look at how much animation energy they're putting into adapting the work of an author best known for the super chill Yurucamp. Yamasusu spirit lives on (Morotomi asst. kantoku?!)

Recently started a Kaiji groupwatch that finished the Restricted RPS arc today, which means I get to share how the Tonegawa spinoff makes the emotional climax way funnier
