If James Bond opens, the last thing I would want to see are a bunch of "Why hat?" stories. I don't need to see a young James Bond struggling to become the man he will be. I don't want to see him pick up his first Walther PPK... James Bond simply IS. There is no before. Drop him into action and go.

Really enjoyed this. Not an amazing musical, but as someone who loves Louis Armstrong, this is as close as I would ever get to seeing him in real life. The undercurrent of racism was palpable through the whole thing. The amount of pain they brought to "When you're smiling" was impressive.

My favorite James Bond film is--shocking, I know---my first. Stereotypes aside, it's a banger. Moore is perfect, and Topol in a rare movie role is goddam magic. Banger of a song, too. My mom took me to this when I was 9 because Gen X parents gave no fucks.
