We are experiencing an assault on science unparalleled by anything I’ve seen in my life. It’s not one issue or another anymore, the entire institution is under attack by the most powerful individuals in the country. This Friday, where will you be? standupforscience2025.org

What I find interesting is that some of the similar methods I've used to find automated abuse of systems as part of Infosec are being used here to show when it appears that sort of automated abuse has taken place.

I wrote your cybersecurity mentorship guide as requested: tisiphone.net/2025/02/16/o...

I'm playing a lot lately with Cline, what I feel is the better of the AI coding assistants out there. It has one major problem and a few minor related problems that continue to plague me. I'll break some of them down in a thread. #AI #aidev #cline #sonnet3.5

Check out my latest appearance with the 'PrOTect IT All' podcast. You can tune in here where we discuss how to practically build an OT cybersecurity program, and how to build a career in the field as a cybersecurity practitioner! protectitall.co/episodes/und... #ICScybersecurity

I'm still disappointed that I can't do anything with the #portalgo devices I have. I really with #meta would ship an unlock tool to open them for 3P developers to build images and give them a second life. They were really cool useful devices. My family loved them.

Supporting older boomers / seniors with ever increasingly complex modern tech can quickly highlight tech that has bad edge cases and confusing user experiences. All companies shipping devices need to include boomer QA people I think. Offering up my parents to test tech if any companies need.

And just like that, a whole new cottage industry for bots to spread a message via Community Notes is born. The system will be rigged and gamed and people will trust it.

Using something like openvibe across bsky, threads and Mastodon solves the most important problem. The ordering of the reply, repost and like buttons.

Testing from openvibe.social #crossposting

What apps are people using to cross post to threads and blluesky?

//OMG. Rare pic of well-written documentation. #programming

This is peak risk management. We perceived the risk, planned and implemented mitigations and then thought that "it wasn't so bad". Yes, that's the thing about good risk management, it's hard to distinguish from luck or over reaction.

Nuts.

"Buffer Underflow" just sounds so MVP and quite a bit like quiet quitting.

At 6:20am this morning it was 34C. At 8:30am it was 40C. It's 10:15am now and it's 47C Crap. #Geraldton #Australia

You don't realise just how bad the whole computer / hardware / software / peripheral / Bluetooth ecosystem is until you try and help your parents attach a fucking set of Sony headphones to a new Lenovo Chromebook remotely. Shits just bad.

This will be Christmas number... 8? Where I plan to create that POC of my dream game. Surely this will be the one.

Doing a ChromeOS recovery on a 5 ish year old Dell 5300 2 in 1 Enterprise device. A #ChromeOS laptop with upgradeable ram, SSD and CPU. Creating the recovery media for it is proving to be more hassle than I remember.

You get what you incentivise for.

Supremely disappointed at the lack of Chromebooks at my local Harvey Norman and Retravision. Had to go to Good Guys to get one. Chromebooks are the best devices for seniors, fight me. Also best for enterprise in my view. #chromeos

Very much agree with this and champion this whenever I can. I don't always win those battles, but I fight them. I'm like Tron, I fight for the Users.
