#LGBTQWriteAThon I don't know if this really counts, but my brother got me "In Their Shoes" by Jamie Windust as a gift and I binged that shit for like two weeks. It's not really fiction. So if THAT doesn't count, my default answer is Acception

a woman just trying to get home gets shot

#LGBTQWriteAThon I notice there's an abundance of nonbinary characters with more feminine characteristics or that are just flat out stated to be AFAB, and I don't see other parts of the spectrum much if ever.

#LGBTQWriteAThon Well, it's important because the queer rep is what feels the most genuine to me. It's the kind of environment I'm growing up in, others' differing relationships with their bisexuality, pansexuality, transness is something that personally resonates

The President of the United States is advocating for arresting the duly-elected Governor of California for his SPEECH He thereafter admitted that the Governor of California had committed NO CRIME—but he still wants him arrested Spend as much time as you need processing what that means for America

#LGBTQWriteAThon Return of the old Sunnyside draft (I think this kinda counts?) #pride #writesky

#LGBTQWriteAThon Dawn Towry is mostly inspired by what I was like in middle school, and their arc is inspired by realizations I had about myself back then. However, their appearance and presentation were inspired by the following images. (First moodboard I've ever made so it probably sucks)

#LGBTQWriteAThon I guess... Like a coming of age story with leads like Rae Earl and Frankie Landau-Banks? (I have no idea 😭😭😭)

#LGBTQWriteAThon Welcome to Sunnyside is like Acception but the dynamic of the leads is switched. Also follows the idea of Bojack Horseman, but closer to the teenage experience. (I've been thinking about this for hours 😭😭😭)

#LGBTQWriteAThon My own experiences in 8th grade for one. But, during the summer between 8th and 9th grade at one of my lowest points, I discovered a webcomic called Acception about a bullied teen forming his own inner circle, and it just went from there.

This pisses me off to no end 💀 it's 2025 and people are getting killed for being gay in America, i don't wanna hear another fucking word from cishet ppl about "gay privilege" it doesn't fucking exist

the fact most reports are leaving out that he was killed protecting his husband during a homophobic hate crime where his dead dog's skull was placed in their mailbox as a threat is leaving some important details out i think

#LGBTQWriteAThon Well, I realized outlining every single chapter is a very bad way to do this (especially with my attention span). So I'm just gonna muscle through this and get drafts done and see where it goes from there. I wanna get drafts for the four chapters I have outlined by month's end

#LGBTQWriteAThon I'm Zel Valentine. I'm enby and pan. I'm currently writing a story about a nonbinary teen trying to survive their last year of middle school. I don't have much to show so far, but I DO have the opening lines from a really really REALLY old draft

#QueerWritersChat Dawn would listen to All Time Low, their favorite song would be Calm Down. Abigail would listen to the kind of songs that Kidz Bop would cover, but would have a soft spot for Tove Lo. Ben would listen to nerdcore like Stupendium or Bo Burnham.

#QueerWritersChat I want the story to have the vibes of an All Time Low or Panic at the Disco song, a kind of mix between upbeat and downcast with a snarky bite to it.

#QueerWritersChat Hi, I'm Zel! I am currently working on a story about a nonbinary teen trying to survive eighth grade.

#WeeknightWriters Stressful as hell, as it normally is balancing trying to write a story with school. Silver lining, makes it really easy to write about school issues when you're living through them (though high school and middle school are completely different beasts)

#WeeknightWriters I didn't get to do these earlier, so I'ma get this done. I'm Zel (she/they). I'm working on Welcome To Sunnyside, a story about a nonbinary teenager trying to survive their last year of middle school. I have three chapters outlined. I hope to get seven chapters outlined by Sunday.

#WeeknightWriters Mostly good food, good drinks, and really good music.

if this flag offends u ill help u pack SHARE if u agree

They’re both very evil and very stupid

Might edit it more later

#queerwriters This week I'm gonna try to finish my outline for Welcome to Sunnyside

Take a flawed person and have them reckon with the consequences of their actions. It seems like they've lost everything, but when they take a close look, they see what's left behind, what TRULY matters. #QueerWritersChat

Most of my characters' arcs centre around mending core flaws in their personalities (examples: Only considering their own perspective, blaming themselves for things out of their control, etc.) That resonates with me the most #QueerWritersChat

I tend to have very vague ideas of who they are and what their role in the story would be. Then, I take that and write down everything I know about them, jotting down backstory and personality traits as they go. Eventually this evolves into character arcs and dynamics. #QueerWritersChat

Hi, #QueerWritersChat! I'm Zel Valentine (she/they). Currently I am working on a coming of age story about a nonbinary teen named Dawn Towry trying to survive their last year of middle school alongside their new best friend, sparkly ray of sunshine Abigail Patino.
