As always @maitlis.bsky.social neatly sums it up

Just done this. I'm probably on a list of undesirables now, but luckily I have no reason to go to the USA for the next four years. My sincere condolences to those stuck there with senile Felon 47 and President Musk.

Yes! This should be interesting. Felon 47 and his cronies are not above the law.

intelnews.org/2025/02/03/0... Excellent! OPPOSITION to the White House is continuing on the state level where OPPOSITION might be most effective...

Felon 47 making more batshit-crazy statements about places outside the USA every day. I guess he has to try to look important somewhere, now that President Musk is actually in charge of the USA itself.

Now _there's_ an idea.

Interesting how, since I logged off from Facebook and uninstalled Facebook Messenger from my mobile phone, the phone's battery charge lasts about five times as long as it did before. How odd, eh? Anyway, I no longer need to buy a new phone; yet another reason to be happy about leaving Meta.

Five years since the UK left the EU, and it's obvious that it was the wrong decision. Support for Rejoin is solidly at about 60% in the UK these days - we WILL Rejoin one day, despite what a small but noisy Leaver rump minority would tell you (unfortunately, they own much of the press). Solidarity!

Earl Cat is awesome. Just look at that fluff!

The number of Brits who think leaving the EU was the right decision is at its lowest level EVER. This is a moment. New polling from @yougov.co.uk five years on from Brexit.

A sentimental journey - in the Small Lecture Theatre at the Cavendish Laboratory, sitting more or less where I used to sit during lectures as an undergraduate (1990 - 1993). The Physics Faculty held an alumni reunion last weekend, and we were allowed to wander around the 1970s "Cav 2" buildings.

A happy date coincidence in my visit to my old college @queenscam.bsky.social ; lecture notes which I took 33 years ago today, on a desk in a room in the same building where I lived at the time. Clearly I was channelling the Swedish Chef that morning during the Natural Sciences IB Maths lecture.

FINALLY we are seeing some pushback from SOMEBODY! Lawyer up, Donnie

Who says vegans don't know how to have fun? I've just been for a run, and for my post-exercise recovery protein I'm eating a block of raw tofu. Hardcore.

Visiting Cambridge. Very pleased and proud to meet my allies in @cambsforeurope.bsky.social campaigning on the street for the UK to Rejoin EU. Solidarity from me and the rest of @leedseurope.bsky.social .

Huge respect to Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde for calling out the Orange Mussolini to his face at his own inauguration service, in front of the world's press cameras. www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/... Not quite "I rebuke thee in Christ's name", but getting there.

Cancelled my TV licence today - over seven years after I actually stopped watching TV. I kept paying for the licence because I believe that the BBC is a Good Thing and worthy of my support for the good of my nation's cultural life, but now I need to tighten my belt. Good luck, BBC. Bye bye, licence.
