Just saw the sad news that Zakir Hussain passed away. Tabla maestro extraordinaire. This pic is from an incredible Shakti performance I saw in 2023.

Very sad. Shakti was one of the greatest live performance groups I've ever seen, and it was just one part of Zakir's enormous catalog and life. A respectful and loving farewell to one of the great masters.
