Watching old episodes of Dogfights on YouTube. I had forgotten how much of the Vietnam-era episodes was about how much the US missiles of the period sucked. The Sparrow, in particular, was truly the Mk XIV torpedo of its time.

My father's old dog is losing his sight, we think. He can't seem to see where the water level is in his bowl, so he's taken to banging on the side of it to get the surface rippling, so he can get a drink without accidentally waterboarding himself. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

Went to the doctor today. I gotta say, being congratulated for losing five pounds feels kinda like a passive-aggressive insult when that's one percent of your lifetime maximum weight (NOTE: not what I weigh now).
