Wrote up an idea to improve the DID:PLC system to protect us from the inevitable corporate enshittification phase when the centralized server stops serving mirrors for a bit then starts screwing us over. It's kind of "art of using a blockchain without using a blockchain" github.com/edmundedgar/...

We will indeed be trying to solve for this in @roomy.chat but definitely also check out @germnetwork.com which seems even more specialized in the safety & privacy-first use case. www.germnetwork.com/blog/decentr...

How do you feel about microtransactions on social media (tipping creators, sending money to friends, etc.)? 1️⃣ Love it! Would be cool to have on Bluesky. 2️⃣ No opinion. May or may not use it if it was there. 3️⃣ Hate it! Keep money and social separate. 📊 Show results

Since Svelte 5.16 you can now pass objects and arrays to the class attribute on elements, making it much easier to dynamically assign classes: svelte.dev/docs/svelte/... Very handy!

Flexbox Layout TIL: APPARENTLY the default min-width of a flex item is auto. 🤦‍♂️ The default min-width is NORMALLY 0. This explains why I always struggle with stopping flex boxes from growing outside of their container!! This has confused me up until I discovered this just now.

Just started an interesting blog series by @matthewdgreen.bsky.social. Talks about how some things may depend on proofs of security based on ideal models that are physically impossible for us to actually comply with. blog.cryptographyengineering.com/2025/02/04/h...
