This perfectly sums up 100% of the cycling infrastructure in the UK.

Starmer: “I do not accept that the US is an unreliable ally.” Starmer has to say this. The key is that he doesn’t believe it.

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

We MUST rejoin the EU now and establish a European military fully independent from the US.

NEW: I interviewed Chris Boardman about his many careers, including his current role at Active Travel England. He told me that fact-free anti-cycling media stories are harming the UK's health, as they put off politicians from making brave but necessary decisions. www.theguardian.com/news/2024/de...

In Britain it's about Councils saying that want cities for people while really doing everything possible not to upset motorists

To get kids cycling to school, you need safe, convenient cycling infrastructure and ample bike parking once you get there. This large school has so many children cycling, it features a two-story bike parking garage!

Some cynics say it’s impossible, but the imperative act of reversing car supremacy is already happening in places around the world that have stopped making excuses, and started making progress. 32 cities (in 18 different countries) we visited this year that are making big changes to their streets.🧵

Unfortunately the Cons just don't outweigh the Pros. Content developed with @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social

Public transport should be free at point of use and paid for through pay-per-mile on driving. Convince me otherwise.

A "professional" concludes that it's OK to murder children because buses have "blind spots" and that bike helmets could protect from collisions with tons of metal. I really dispair. We should be asking how to keep kids safe (that cycle lane looks terrible) not blaming them for being run over

Years ago we had the mayor bike to school with my 6 year old, within the first :30 seconds they were almost hit by a driver on live TV. Every leader should be required to ride a bike (if able) with a 6 year old before they provide any direction on bike infrastructure.

Spot on. Comprehensive pedestrianisation should be far higher up the agenda in our cities than it is. Nearly wherever cars go, cities get worse. Nearly wherever they’re removed, those urban spaces flourish.
