If what happened today hadn’t happened, then it soon would. Trump and Putin will cook up a deal Ukraine will rightly reject, and then Trump would have had a hissy fit.

Trump is a destroyer. Building relationships can take years, building trading relationships is painstaking and building businesses can take decades. Institutions can take centuries to build. Destroying these things can easily be done in days and that is what we are witnessing. Any fool can do it.

The YouGov poll this week on U.K. public attitudes on transgender rights is very frightening. For now at least it seems the gender criticals and the far right are winning the case for our elimination. They are enabled by almost all mainstream media. This Labour government is cravenly following.

If Ukraine is forced to surrender its sovereign territory to Russia, it will be the greatest betrayal of a European ally since Poland in 1945. The UK must lead in Europe in defence of Ukraine. We cannot stand back and watch as Zelensky is bullied by Trump.

My wife Bunty has been visited by Dorset Police concerning a tweet she wrote about Claire the Marxist nurse in our village. In the tweet Bunty called Claire’s vegan buns chewy; too dry to nibble & then called Claire a cake hater. Bunty’s right to free speech has been VIOLATED!😡

In the late 90s & early 2000s we in the UK received (very roughly) 80,000 asylum applications per year. Mainly people escaping Balkan wars. Today in these “unprecedented” times of “invasion” by small boat… we receive pretty much the exact same numbers. Had you been taken in? I wouldn’t blame you.

I think BlueSky has reached a critical mass. I signed up months ago and found little of interest. Now almost everyone of interest is here. The major journos/academics, leading trans figures and the big bonus, lots of Tranmere fans. It’s going to take time to rebuild followers - so what.

Perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised that the Labour Government is socially conservative. Its seeming lack of enthusiasm for the Assisted Dying Bill is just one symptom. Its intent to sustain the Tory anti Trans policies is another. There hasn’t been a socially liberal Labour Home Sec since Roy Jenkins
