So now the US is the new evil superpower, does this mean bad guys in films won’t always be played by Brits now? We need a break!

Seeing some posts that Apple would make a killing bringing back the iPod. Honestly? No. The Apple Watch does everything for playing music including mobile streaming. Just use Bluetooth headphones…

Having gained experience, I can see why the Smalltalk everything an object/message passing thing can be slow. The challenge now is to see if/how it can be optimised.

I’ve been messing with a COBOL/Smalltalk inspired syntax and it’s kinda cool. Everything is an object, message passing except for control structures which use a more conventional syntax but still with message passing.

The whole “working class folk drink beer and lager” trope gets old. It’s condescending! Altho I only drink single malt and cognac so what do I know 😄 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Here's an annoying thing. The original Cities: Skylines ran on macOS, but the sequel does not. I am of the strong belief that casual/strategy/sim type games would do well due to the typical Mac user.

My mate had a C64, I never liked it, programming it was crap. Graphics were nice, but a bit muted compared to the Speccy and CPC. It lacked personality. Still have zero interest! The Amiga very different.

Watching "The Spectrum Show" and it has my old colleague Lee Smith's (@leesmithsworkshop.bsky.social) ZX Mechtrum keyboard. Very nice! www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hlS...

I’ve been messing around with a variant of Smalltalk syntax now for a week, making white space significant, use commas as well as periods to create a different sense of things. All good fun, maybe will go nowhere but it’s fun and that’s all that matters.

All the news of sinkholes makes me wonder if this parking area is going to sink one day…this depression only appeared last year! Don’t want my car vanishing!

It’s sunny! Do your mental health a favour and go outside and enjoy it…it’s been a looong winter this year. Sunshine and light exercise = shit tons of serotonin, dopamine and endorphins. As a geek it helps combat my late night coding 😆

It’s warm this morning, a balmy 10c. Mental health recharge complete.

Forgot I took this yesterday. The sun has an outrun vibe to it.

More dibbling with Smalltalk last night, in Squeak this time. Even for someone who has experience with dozens of languages, it's very impenetrable. As a compiler writer, I'm somewhat obsessed by languages with very simple syntax, but it just pushes complexity elsewhere. Forth/Smalltalk/Lisps etc
