When you go to the beach with your mates……. 😃 #FalklandIslands #KingPenguin #birds #BirdsSeenin2025 #capehorncruise #zootherabirding

More birds found on deck of Sapphire Princess during our Epic Cape Horn Cruise. A worrying trend as they are attracted/confused by the bright lights of the ship. All birds were released unharmed & seemed fine. #seabirds #BirdsSeenIn2025 #Argentina

A phonescoped female Magellanic Woodpecker from Tierra del Fuego NP, Ushuaia #BirdsSeenIn2025 #capehorncruise #birds

More Masatierra Petrel action from our Epic Cape Horn Cruise #birdsseenin2025 #birds #seabirds #zootherabirding

Sailing south along the Chilean coast gave us many Antipodean Albatross sightings. They seemed to like following the ship, hanging in the air for us to photograph them! #seabirds #birds #chile

Unbelievably, we found a Masatierra Petrel on deck of Sapphire Princess as we began our Epic Cape Horn Cruise. It’s the 2nd time out of the 3 cruises we’ve done so far. Bird returned to sea unharmed. #seabirds #bird #zootherabirding

A cool looking Surfbird along the Chilean coast this morning #birds #shorebirds #phonescope

Oman Birdings first tour is something I just can't wait for! It's a groundbreaking trip mixing land-based seawatching with 3 pelagics, 2 ferry journeys & a boat ride to see nesting RB Tropicbirds & Sooty Falcon. Full info here: www.oman-birding.com/oman-seabird... #birds #seabirds #Oman

Spent an hour sat on the beach at Khawr Raysut letting the shorebirds get used to me. One of a dozen Terek Sandpipers didn’t seem to mind me at all. A real privilege to watch these beauties up close #Oman #birds #shorebirds

African Paradise-Flycatcher is quite common in the Dhofar region of southern #Oman #birds

Pheasant-tailed Jacana seems to be everywhere around Salalah at the moment. Look at those feet!!! #Oman #birds #omanbirding

Very pleased to catch up with Wattled Starling in Oman. Seems to be an influx right now, as they’ve been seen at a few sites lately. Oman rocks! #birds #Oman

Last night at Muntesar Oasis, Oman I found a pair of Sykes's Nightjars and watched them for over half an hour trying to secure photos of the wing pattern - to no avail. But got this shot of one bird as it rested on the ground. Previously found by Joachim Bertrands on Nov 24. A 2nd for Oman #birds

Found the 5th Common Hawk-Cuckoo for Oman today (if accepted). Absolutely made up with this. The same small wooded park at Al Shamkaiah on Masirah Island also held RB Fly, 2 Asian Koels and 2 Forest Wagtails. What a place! #birds #omanbirding #zootherabirding #mega #birding

Well the new Oman Birding website is up & running. Still lots of work needed but it’s a start: www.oman-birding.com If anyone has photos or any articles they would like included, can they please email them to our new email address: [email protected] #birds Photos copyright Eduard Sangster

My Bird of the Year has to be Brazilian Merganser. A lifer duck and a very rare one at that. Took some finding but we had an amazing scout/guide in Chico, one of the dedicated researchers working so hard to protect this enigmatic species. With @zootherabirding.bsky.social #DucksRock

Moustached Woodcreeper is listed as 'vulnerable' so was happy to get good views in Peruacu NP, even if getting an unimpeded photo wasn't quite as easy, and to add it to the list of #BirdsSeenIn2024 for #Brazil. Seen on my trip with @zootherabirding.bsky.social in September.

If anyone has photos they are willing to share of rare or scarce birds taken in Oman this year, could you let me know via email on; [email protected] please. I would like to include them in the new Oman Birding website we are hoping to publish early next month. Thanks in advance. #birds
