To all #TeamTomo #CryoET and #Chlamydomonas aficionados: we have updated EMPIAR-11830 with a bug fix concerning some cryo-CARE denoised tomos as well as additional files and metadata! 🎉👩🏽‍💻 www.ebi.ac.uk/empiar/EMPIA... A little thread about what's new... 🧵 1/n

Beautiful story on HIV-1 Matrix maturation and seeing it out in complete story by my postdoc colleagues James and Dominik from the Briggs group @briggsgroup.bsky.social Congratulations to all!

I'm happy to announce that our paper is now online in Cell! This study was the result of a highly collaborative effort from many scientists. Please read it here: www.cell.com/cell/fulltex... (1/3)

1/ Thrilled to announce Dr. Elizabeth Wright as the inaugural winner of the June Almeida Award for #cryoem! 🎉Elizabeth’s pioneering work in both cryo-ET methods and structural virology made her a perfect fit for this award. Congrats, Elizabeth!

Wow, this preprint made my day: tinyurl.com/5n8uk533. We find the Wnt receptor Ror2 on cytonemes tinyurl.com/28nnwwm3 and @zunlongke.bsky.social & @danieljleahy.bsky.social show EGF receptors on extracellular vesicles. Receptor spreading has vast consequences for our understanding of signalling.

Register now to hear some cool vaccine science! I'll be speaking at this conference, so come hang out!

Very excited to share the first story from my postdoc where we uncover the structural basis for slow Cas9 turnover! We use kinetics-guided cryo-EM to capture 25 conformational states of SpCas9 from a single dataset - including the first look at Cas9 releasing product. biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

If you’re interested in how molecular motors coordinate to power intracellular trafficking events (e.g. endocytosis), I’ve got a PhD position available to study this at vibrant Bristol uni. In this project, we will capture highly dynamic events by #cryoEM, single molecule imaging & cell biology. 🔬❄️🧪

I've been having a lot of fun with this (ongoing) project with my colleagues @zunlongke.bsky.social and @danleahy.bsky.social, who have both just joined bluesky. 1/4

A fun journey of full-length EGFR with Dan Leahy and @edwardmarcotte.bsky.social at UT Austin @utaustin.bsky.social. See below: Structure and organization of full-length Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor in extracellular vesicles by cryo-electron tomography www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
