I was so confused when I first moved here because I grew up in Kansas City and went to school in Moorhead so I thought when I crossed the river from downtown Minneapolis to NE that I was in St. Paul. In fairness, the buildings all look different on that side of the river.
Richfield used to come all the way up to Lake Street. This is just part of the expansion project that will expand Mpls out to Woodbury in the next 100 years
It is! Quirk of the map, but an interesting trait of the region. And surely a reason this area was settled to begin with—lots of water transport options.
