Not really (but it helps a little) , it's a process that's been going on for much longer. It includes big differences in how the coal regions develop socially, advent of cheaper RE, big EU incentives and support etc.

Unfortunately. P hasn't had any but just signed off on the money for the first one. Which is already behind plan by 3 years before even starting construction. It's likely to waste enormous ressources just like Hinkley Point in the UK while being massively overtaken by renewables in the meantime.

Natural gas is more responsible for the decline of coal than wind and solar are

True, but not necessarily a bad thing. A decent gas turbine with heat recovery is over twice as thermally efficient as a coal-fired plant, so it's still helping with emissions. Also, natural gas burns much more cleanly

Sure. Which is why you see all these “Natural gas drives out coal!” posts with graphs that omit wind and solar … but you don’t. There’s enough real success in renewables to celebrate without this kind of misleading presentation

I don't know what source of info your'e looking at, but I've seen graph with declining coal and rising gas pretty much every day for the past ten years. For Poland it's very different from the USA, because the gas is imported. Switching to gas is a major geopolitical weakness.
