I love wild animals, but one has to be careful about wishing to be them. Most wild animals spend a whole lot of time hungry or in constant mortal fear of much larger predators. Also, most animals are not social, so it's a lonely existence.
Armadillos are the high school mascot in the Texas town I live in. The girlβs teams are called Lady Dillos. I see lots of armadillos but sadly most are squashed on the roads.
I know π. When I first moved here I couldnβt believe that is what they were called. The toddlers that dress up in cheerleader costumes & run around during games are called Little Dillos.
My favorite leprosy spreading animal that looks like a gliptadon!! (No Iβm not 100% certain that every armadillo has or carries that disease Iβm just making a joke that references an illness Iβve been told they carry by a wildlife conservationist so as to avoid people grabbi no then.) I do love them
No, but was not serious. Sometimes that takes the edge off of oncoming radiation treatments. And the stink hole this country is becoming. It's ok I don't mess with wild animals. Grew up on a farm and learned that early.
Darned things are frolicking in our Tennessee yard and garden, and this was never in their natural range. The damage they can do is pretty bad, but thank goodness weβve been treating for the grubs they feed on. Wish theyβd frolick further south!

I wonder what a cross between an armadillo and a pangolin would look like?
Pretty weird I think. π
If you need a break, have a peek at ZE Frank's stuff over the past 11+ years.
NOT for children or squeamish people.
Biologists in the know love being in his credits which is great for inspiring research.

I came across one blissfully eating weeds one night. Once it realized I was standing there watching it eat, it almost apologetically tip-toed off.
