Midnight Riot by Ben Aaronovitch
Narrator: Kobna Holdbrook-Smith
First rate urban fantasy set in London
The Mona Lisa Vanishes by Nicolas Day
Narrator: Carlotta Brentan
I took perverse pleasure in the pattern: Da Vinci invents thing, doesn't finish the project.
I really loved his narration on the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne, but unless you’re driving to Alaska and back, you wouldn’t have enough time to get through all of the books in that series.
The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place, by Julie Berry.
Awful headmistress of Victorian girls' boarding school poisoned; the girls do a Weekend at Bernie's to keep the school nominally open so they can just chill in perfect freedom. Hijinks ensue. JUST TRUST ME IT'S GREAT.
OH ALSO: City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett.
Spy thriller in the occupied, ruined city of Bulikov, once the center of the world, then broken in an instant when the (actual, factual) gods that built it were (actually, factually) killed in a slave rebellion. FRIGGIN AWESOME.
My husband and I really liked the Bobiverse books by Dennis E. Taylor, very funny. If you're into witchy romance, Sarah Painter's Ward Witch series is lovely and has some mystery to it . Ann Leckie's Ancillary series is beautifully narrated by Adjoa Andoh, very deep and interesting.
Sherry Thomas's Lady Sherlock series is terrific and doesn't require close attention.
I also love Theodora Goss's Adventures of the Athena Club series
(both series have the same narrator 😸)
All Creatures Great And Small-the new edition narrated by Nicholas Ralph
The Good Neighbor The Life and Work of Fred Rogers
Street Gang The Complete History Of Sesame Street
Nicholas St North-William Joyce
Windswept & Interesting-Billy Connolly
Down to Earth Gardening Wisdom-Monty Don
This Time Together by Carol Burnett has been a delight, I immediately started listening again after finishing it so I could get the stories again before returning it.
The Dallergut Dream Department Store by Miye Lee is the newest addition to my comfort read rotation.
Ruth Reichl's books Save me the Plums & Garlic and Sapphires have been some stand out audiobooks.
The audiobooks for @tkingfisher.com's Paladin books are wonderful, and those books have just the right tone to keep you going through a road trip. I say this as a person who is really bad at road trips, too!
The World Without Us is a good one and it's unabridged.
If you like history First into Nagasaki is good but the reader is not so good.
The Prizewinner of Defiance Ohio, excellent novel/oral history however the audiobook is abridged.

Thursday Murder Club series
It's like having a super funny friend riding shotgun with you and telling you hilarious and touching stories from their life.
The voice actress in part 3 is especially compelling. (Bring tissues)

Ruth Reichl's books Save me the Plums & Garlic and Sapphires have been some stand out audiobooks.
Once Upon a River read by Juliet Stevenson. She could read the phone book!
The First 15 Lives of Harry August by Claire North (any of her books, really) read by Peter Kenny.
The Fifth Season read by Robin Miles.
I have more!
