They've been against fair use, emulation, and piracy for years. Claiming they must get a cut of literally everything because it's 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 IP, even when 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺'𝘳𝘦 not willing to sell it. The second they believe they can make a quick buck by engaging in the practice themselves, they drop all pretense.

I know this surprises people, but if a corporate/person uses a computer to create something that is a complete knock off of something you've done, and they try to sell/profit it from it, it's still copyright infringement, same as if they'd copy-pasted your work.
