He doesn't care about the law. He cares about his money/ power and wants his share of right wing money sloshing about from right wing interests fossil fuel etc. This money is being used to up end democracies everywhere and he wants his slice. The tech companies are also involved.

Only have to get somewhere between 50% and 60% to pass exams for some parts of a law degree, as I'm sure you know. So it's not surprising the calibre of legal "eagles" in this country can sometimes be extremely low
