I see your points, you're right! But...the AfD came second in the polls after the votes were split. And in that voting system, the news is not good. It shows, just like here, that the opposition is very split, allowing the far right to surge into second position....

How about framing it as 80% of the country didn’t want the far right party and despite Musk, Russia and other interference by bad actors seeking to destabilise Europe, as well as the media frothing over the far right, the good news story is they didn’t win. “People Reject Far Right” IS the story.

All media seems to have the same disease not sure if they are glorifying the fact that the far right have increased their vote like it is a good thing or not. Bit like Reform saying they took a greater proportion of the vote which was still too much but was thankfully not that good
