I feel the Ukrainians have really upped the game in the field of successful drone warfare. Before, it seemed to me drones were just what people took ariel footage with, or played with or speculated about parcel/food delivery with. Necessity is the mother of invention they say, and here's an example.

If the way we care for elderly people is distinct because their bodies and risks are distinct, perhaps the care of an elderly president should be, too, Louise Aronson writes:

Made in Manchester and Leigh: Kathleen Drew-Baker (1901-57), a star botanist at the University of Manchester, made breakthroughs in cultivation of seaweed that saved Japan’s multi-billion pound sushi industry, for which she is commemorated there as ‘Mother of the Sea’. 1/6

Just sorted my lipsticks/other makeup and decided it's time to bin a lot. 4 lipsticks are nearly finished, two eyeshadow palettes I barely use, 2 mascara should have been binned ages ago. I do wear lipstick every day and like to have at least 6 to choose from. Eyeshadows I might use on paintings.

Another day in the 'much nicer place'.

I'm going through a phase of reading medieval murder mysteries and there was a reference to the "3 leopards of England" as appears on the English royal flag. It made me wonder why the lion/3 lions have become the symbols now. The lion was the heraldic beast of the ancient kingdom of Scotland. Odd.

After 2wks hols of having to get up relatively early to catch breakfast service and going to sleep earlier than usual, I find I'm still kind of doing that now. It has meant I've got a bit more done this past few days but I also realise life's too short to laze about in bed for too long.

Morning stroll up and down garden...only one small slug in the little pots of diluted Marmite. No further damage on plants but that may be the snipped up garlic leaves or that it didn't rain last night. Worryingly my small goldfish seem to have disappeared but at least one of the two bigger ones ok.

This wasn't initially intended to become a long thread of photos and memories but somehow has done. I hope you enjoy the photos half as much as I do.

Nobody is scared of Reform they are 5 MPs with hot air and empty promises – led by a conman BUT What is wrong here is the relentless platforming of this small group inflating their importance by the BBC and MSM Radicalisation in plain sight Reform has foreign backers

After teasing us for the last couple of days, the young male #peregrine that got blown off its nest ledge has made it back on its own. Very good news! #DerbyPeregrines #Birds derbyperegrines.blogspot.com/p/our-webcam...

My garden up the right hand side from the greenhouse today.

Looking up the left hand side of my garden from the greenhouse today.

I’m delighted to announce that this September I will take up the post of Associate Professor of Law at the University of Oxford and Tutorial Fellow in Law at Keble College. I couldn’t be more excited to be joining this incredible community of scholars.

One of the adult Peregrines seems to have brought in two bits of carcass so both juveniles have been happily feeding themselves. Male is now perched on the edge of the nest again and femal is lying down with her head on the little barrier on the edge of the nest looking over. They've eaten a LOT!

Adult Peregrine is now feeding the male juvenile as quickly as possible and it's not touching the sides, straight down.

There's just been a full-on tussle over the carcass whilst the adult mainly just sat there watching, then intervened and dragged carcass off a bit, and now just one juvenile is feeding. Tussle ongoing though.

One of the juvenile Peregrines has literally wrestled a bit of carcass off the incoming adult and is tearing away at it, back to the other juvenile and wings outstretched covering his bit of meat! I'm pretty sure it's the male juvenile. The other one looks bigger.

«prioritising self-identified gender erased biological sex records, “distorting the male-driven nature of violence against women and girls” and hindering analysis…skewing the very low rate of sexual and gender-based violence crimes committed by females,”»

whenever I see a Tory shadow minister talking about how bad crime is I’m reminded that they got rid of 1/2m years of policing experience, 800 police stations, 600 courtrooms, 1000s of probation officers and added just 482 prison places What the f*** did they expect to happen?
