If they invite the wrong person in to a Signal chat, that person will know stuff they shouldn't.
Any client available on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux will be vulnerable to an exploit somewhere, so China and Russia will also know stuff they shouldn't.
Ukraine envoy Steve Witkoff was in Moscow at the time he was added to the Signal group, & while in Russia, CIA John Ratcliffe named an active CIA intelligence officer in the chat. It is not necessary to step foot in Moscow for Russian intelligence to gain access to such Signal communications.
That's a phishing UX exploit which has been patched. The bigger problem is you're not supposed to use consumer hardware for any classified info regardless of what app you use it with
So true and so little understood. So much security thinking still is based on military thinking with protected bases talking to each other. Not our world today.
