There’s a T-shirt with Pumpkin on it that says Everyone Counts so I think it’s fair to say they’re at least pro voters rights. Pumpkin is a local hero here.
There is a town in KY, Rabbit Hash, that had a dog mayor for well over a decade, &, delightfully, they took it seriously enough that when one of my relatives who did state audits in the capital had to contact them for municipal business, the dog mayor’s handlers would make sure the doggo was in the
room & would reschedule if they needed time to get him there! (My relative found this INFURIATING, but they’re also a pretty easily infuriated person, so a coworker who found it charming would just swap out handling Rabbit Hash w/ my relative 😹)
