The more I think of the SNW news, the less I'm mad. I'm a little confused, and there are things I'd love more clarity on, but we also now *know* we're getting a fifth season.
Granted, it's shorter, but at least the show has the chance to craft an arc to let it go out on its own terms :)

We may not have got the anthology series, but we have been getting an anthology of different series.
The show saying goodbye after 47 episodes would've been a nice hat tip to the fans, me thinks.

Though the reduced order for Season 5 surprised me a little bit.
Okay. Now that that's out of the way....I'm glad that they announced it NOW, and here's why.
It means that they can build the show to a proper and satisfying conclusion.
Regardless of whether it amounts to Pike in the beep chair.
The worst Trek-related cockup in recent memory has to be the time they pulled Discovery off Netflix 2 days (?) before the new season was due to start.
