The new DOGE administrator, who the White House only named after media pressure, told associates she did not know she would be named publicly to the position. She’s currently scheduled to be on vacation in Mexico.

Yes. Federal workers cannot work if they are on leave AND on foreign soil. They can only do federal work from a foreign country if they are on official work travel status.

Also, there should be an official statement of 'delegation of authority' while she is on leave, esp if she's not in the US.
