FYI they are trying to make the internet dependent on Starlink to control all data. Russia is cutting undersea cables to help that along. I was banned from Reddit months before the election for saying that.

I think it’s much less sinister than that. It just about money. There is no path to profit for Starlink that doesn’t involve it being rooted in services that can’t move away, so the prices can be jacked up - even with Elon’s fantasy ~$1m starship launch which won’t ever happen because “physics”.
