I just saw that while trying to look it up! 😂 seems like maybe wild mating and eggs/young remain unobserved? (I love that there are so many scientists/science-adjacent people on Bsky that every time I post some offhand comment like this I end up learning something new 💚)
I remember it coming across my news feed sometime recently, so I was trying to figure out what it is that they had learned. I thought that it was more significant than just tracking the eels, and more recently than 2022, but that's all I could find with a google search.
Sorry for being a smart-ass: I was picturing a Far side type of cartoon with scientists spending months of research to determine 'hey, they are pretty slippery'
Harvard's gone woke. They can't even define life now!
Always funny to watch the "What is a woman" galaxy brains blunder their way into a minefield with no exit.
biologists: "we still haven't figured out the platypus. I mean...seriously have you seen that thing? it's like a mythological creature that came to life! and don't ask us to explain sponges. just...don't ask."

Granted, trans robots are also pretty cool.
If anything tangible comes from this, it’s going to be an even bigger mess than I presumed. 🤦🏻
Stay safe, everyone…
