You break down applications so minor things don’t delay the main application. It’s done for a reason - the people involved (not the club) are not naive. It’s sensible.
True - but it was a culvert and I meant in the sense as not the main event. It allows them to keep going back with additional information on that application and negotiating, whilst getting on with the rest. I’m surprised they were allowed to separate the applications!
Maybe they had a general one for the whole project in principle then a requirement to fine tune it once they got closer to that need. We’ve been so long waiting for a stadium it’s finally going to happen and will be brilliant for the town.
This planning application for the river that has just been approved was submitted in March 2024 and pre-dates the detailed planning application for the stadium by about 6 months.
Buildings around the stadium still need planning, but everything else is approved, though conditions have to be met.
I think an S106 agreement needs to be finalised, but planning application wise I believe that’s everything needed to start construction on the stadium.
Enabling developments to the west and east of the stadium are in their own application.
