Haven’t written one of these for a while. And it won’t cheer either of us up, mate. But here you go: #LTFC | #TTAGU medium.com/@KevinSCrowe...

Yesterday was the first proper last day relegation since 1992. Shows how when we do go down we normally go down with even more of a whimper considering there’s been another 6 relegations between then and yesterday.

Sent down on goal difference, which feels kinda apt given the arrogance of the club backing Rob Edwards’ anti-defence philosophy of rather winning 5-4 than 1-0. Meanwhile Burnley concede just 16 and reach 100 points and the Premier League.

Below is the table since Bloomfield arrived at the club. Fair to say it has been a disaster of an appointment given the circumstances we found ourselves in and his remit. He may well come good in League 1 (🤞), but that's not what he was appointed for.

Updated run-in

With Derby's win tonight the gap to safety increases to 3 points (effectively 4 points with our poor GD). Here are the remaining fixtures for Stoke, Oxford, Derby, Hull, Cardiff and Luton who are the teams fighting to avoid the last two relegation places.

0.43ppg in 7 winless games under Matt Bloomfield and we can’t even beat a horrendously bad side at home because we’re also horrendously bad. Feels like a fever dream that 366 days ago we were playing Man Utd as their peer.

A biggun tonight. Unfortunately quite ill so I can't go 🙁 Have fun Luton fans and enjoy your programme 🧡🤞 @mdfootyprogs.bsky.social @wearelutontown.bsky.social @lutontownfans.com #LTFC #COYH #PAFC

OTD 15 years ago - Happy "Keith Keane" Day 🧡 youtu.be/vifyZLk_-DU

The planning application at Power Court to move and open up parts of the River Lea has finally been approved.

They've nailed that late 80s/early 90s rap album cover.

So Lasse Nordås to Luton from Tromsø is a done deal then from all reputable accounts and also Matt Bloomfield having a big smile on his face when Geoff Doyle asked him about it on BBC Three Counties. A 6'4" striker that seems a very similar profile to Elijah 🤔

New club record of consecutive away defeats averted! Not a great second half from us, but it's a small step of progression and hopefully we can now build on this after this 10 day break.

4 Luton Legends, 1,887 appearances (and a great kit). Mal Donaghy, Ricky Hill and Brian Stein at David Preece’s testimonial vs Man United.

Here's a confusing look at Luton playing tomorrow's opponents Sheffield Wednesday in 1986 at Kenilworth Road. Anyone know why we were in blue? Because of the snow that had to be cleared from the pitch or was their yellow kit deemed too close to our white one? hattersheritage.co.uk/matches/luto...

We’ve got a bit of a use it or lose it situation. Hatters Heritage haven’t been posting on BlueSky because there’s very little interaction with their posts or visits to the websites. It would be wonderful if we could build the LTFC community on this ap and HH should be a integral part of that. 1/2

The great thing about Gary Doherty was that he scored 15 times for us, but I can’t recall a single spectacular goal. All headers and close range finishes, which is what you want from your striker turned defender turned striker turned defender turned striker.

To put that into context, Kone has scored in 10 different League 1 games this season in 27 appearances. That's 37%. Joe Taylor who we sold for (at most) half of that £6m figure scored in 7 different games out of 19 last season at the same level of football. Again that is 37%. What a car crash.

Excellent progress Luton. Making the seemingly impossible possible with absolute ease.

I’ve seen 7 relegations and this one coming soon will be by far the most embarrassing one of all given our current circumstances. 2020 have thrown it away by being too loyal to a manager and letting the rot set in with the players, all of whom now accept losing and have no fight or character.

I'm sure we'll always be eternally grateful to Rob Edwards for leading us to promotion to the Premier League and hopefully that is only how we will remember him if we see off any relegation threat this season. It's sad that it ended the way it did, but it had to happen for the sake of the club.

Remember when we thought post-Middlesbrough that Rob Edwards was going to be sacked after losing 8 of the first 15 games? 7 defeats in just 11 games since then and after the "inspiring coming of minds" during the November international break that Gary Sweet wrote about.

Poor stuff again really. Unlucky with the goals conceded but they could have won about 6-2 if everyone had taken their good chances. Nothing’s going to change, so on we march towards the all time consecutive away defeat record.

LUTON HAVE LOST THE MOST GAMES IN THE LEAGUE. Let that sink in. We’re a football club currently benefiting from parachute payments after spending a season in the Premier League and we’ve lost 14 of the 25 games we’ve played (56%).

How much longer do we have to endure this? I get we were unlucky to lose, but this was a very average Norwich team on the day who had won only 2 of 12 away matches before today. Just get Edwards out now. He is NOT the man to turn this around as he has proved time and time again.
