Sad to say, I’m sure that within minutes some MP in Alberta will resign their seat so a by-election can be called for him to slither in. And Alberta separatists will be all riled up. Alberta is the provincial equivalent of an angry white man pissed at his loss of privilege.

Cdn here: this above all else is the most surprising outcome of this seismic election. It’s mind blowing that Poilievre lost his seat yet the Liberals haven’t managed a full majority.
So an upset for Poilievre when less of a wave election as was predicted.
The Liberal candidate in that riding has actually worked and spoken with so many people in the riding. He earned that win through many kilometres of walking (in all weather), many hours of events, and a belief that local people deserved better than a slogan-meister.

you must acknowledge the role of sexism and racism in this comparison. Trump could be a royal dick and Kamala had to be perfect. She was a black woman running against a white man. She ran a great campaign. But America isn't ready for a woman to have this kind of power, let alone a black one.
Someone will step aside and he will eventually win a safe seat. NDP have no choice but to ‘caucus’ with the Liberals for a few years. It will be interesting to watch how aggressive Carney will be in trying to implement his version of the new deal while fighting Trump. G7 will not be boring in June.
