I am proud to say I volunteered on the committee that produced this legislation. Contact your local politicians to support it. One of my best memories this year was advocating for it in Lansing with my fellow librarians.

100%. I wouldn't be surprised if schools are eventually added, but iirc, MLA and MASL operate pretty independently (at least more so than in other states where both schools and public libraries could be folded into the same legislation).

We know these laws are not the solution nor do they do more than end one of the four-Rs of book banning (the removal part). But they're crucial because they signify that legislators are listening to library issues.
