question about subathons, do people prefer to have the stream going 24/7 (even while the streamer sleeps) or to simply end stream when it's bedtime and start back up when awake? to be clear, the streamer would still get their 8 hours in both scenarios!! https://strawpoll.com/B2ZB9WerjgJ

With VOD for exemple or with someone who take over during this "down" state. If it just the streamer gone to bed, cut the stream so when he is back there is a notif to remind the viewers
And works with Twitch's default VoD limitations.
I feel like ending the stream goes against the spirit of a subathon, personally
Plus having something like a vod replay while the steamer sleeps gives those with differing schedules a window to watch *something*
I’ve seen streamers set up VODs to play during the “Just Sleeping” portion or an interactive game like Word With Friends.
For Criken's last subarhon I remember the mods took video reccs and it just became chat watching videos all night. Was really fond of that.
Chances of things crashing in the night are also high, so no need for an actual stream
...just pause the timer and grab the ad bucks.
Plus raiding out at the end of the day helps share the love!
Where one can sleep during the stream because they have insomnia or something else preventing 8 hours of sleep - others might feel better cutting it off to get a full night's sleep.
Long as someone gets food and sleep in some fashion.
If the streamer has something that can fill the airtime (e.g. someone to take over) then sure, keep it going as long as you can.
If it's just going to be "dead air", then might as well stop the stream so the notification comes through upon restarting.
