Clear positive benefit/risk ratio with Covid vaccines, but is it strictly the case that the vaccines had no CV risk? e.g. cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. The virus had CV impact no doubt, but there were some specific CV events that were linked to the vaccines.

My point is that there is v small risk for some rare CV events. Saying there is none is unhelpful when arguing for an evidence based approach. It undermines the argument and provides others (who do struggle with the evidence and promote mis/disinformation) with a stick to beat us with.

Exactly this. Denying any risk also means IF you are one of the unfortunate ones, you’ll find scant help from anyone. The benefits can outweigh the risks, but society needs to do better supporting those harmed, as many end up in the arms of antivax when they get dismissed by everyone else.

If you can avoid exposure to Covid, you would not vaccinate. The problem is that people mock you for wearing a mask (and not hire you for jobs), and that you cannot mask at places such as the dentist or when eating. Given the world that we are in, vaccination is the better option.

NZ data were particularly helpful from pharmacovigilance perspective as covid was very well controlled prior to vaccination roll out.
