I imagine there must be people out there who are purposely growing dandelions, then?
I have signed up for a leather tooling class at Origins, since I can apply that to boekbinding. And a glass paperweight class at the conservatory--hopefully they'll let me use my uranium glass frit!
re: leather tooling class and bookbinding - Ooooh, I'm envious.
And the glass paperweight class also sounds fascinating!
What is Uranium Glass??
In brief, it's glass that has a small amount of uranium oxide in it, which makes the glass bright yellow or green under normal light.
But put it under UV light, and it does this:
🔷Cull my pipe corral-sending the orphans my pipe purveyor who does Estate Pipes and I get store credit.
🔷Finishing NYS/NYC applications for my S-Corp
🔷Learning to use my new Gen 3 Oura ring
🔷Deciding which tobaccos go in a "pot au feu".
🔷"Shopping" "new" pens in my pen pots.
I'm sort of assuming the smoking types of pipe because of the mention of tobacco in the last bit. 😁
These are in the rotation corral...exept the ones to the left of the blue handled pliers, which have already gone to the Estate dept of my pipe purveyor...
Hard work, but worth it
1) Skirting - remove any poopy bits etc
2) Scouring - hot soapy water to remove the lanolin
3) 3 or so rounds of rinse water.
4) Dry
Some people do the whole fleece in one go, and work in huge containers, I worked with a bucket and separated the fleece into mesh laundry bags
Sometimes I use a salad spinner but it's going to be warm and dry tomorrow as well so I figured it would be OK without that step.
