The court system is a coequal branch of government. If the administration isn’t going to follow their orders it’s time to hold some senior officials in contempt.

So tell me... What does holding a lawless regime in contempt look like? If they don't recognize or abide by laws, why would they suddenly follow a contempt ruling?
I am no lawyer but what are you suggesting the bounty hunter does? Sieze government officials, potentially with secret service or FBI security details, to arrest and detain them? That would likely only be possible if congress voted to impeach and remove them first.
I’d like to see Homan, Bondi, Rubio, Miller and Noem with hands zipped tied, walking hunched over and two arm guards buzzing their hair off. That would be justice.
The supposedly coequal branches are no more. The exec branch assumes suprriority. The legislative branch abdicates authority, over its minority's objection. The judicial branch also has bad actors: the good should assume all bets are off, and join in the battle any way it chooses.
Yes. I thought the first time was when it was time. What, exactly, is taking so long? I do believe the felon is just waiting to declare Marshall law at any excuse. And being forced to follow the law will probably be his excuse.
roberts, alito, gorsuch, thomas and kavanaugh fucked all that up last year. Now it's time to pay their dues and they can all fly their flags upside down now.
republicans aren't spineless; they're traitors not to have removed trump.
That trump wasn't removed twice after impeachment demonstrates the check on Presidential violations of the Constitution & laws to be nonexistent. trump obviously knows this.
Exactly. Two previous stress-tests of text-book model, should-be-convicted Impeachments weren't high-crimes enough.
Means 0% chance anybody will be EVER be convicted under such broken rules. Especially a broken Constitution that never recognized the power of "Parties" gripping all 3 Branches.
it's been time that time has come and gone the courts won't uphold the law so all three branches are in open defiance of the law of the land which means we the people rise the fuck up and remove them and put in others that will follow the law.
Agreed. Find Contempt and throw their asses in jail until they comply with the court order. They don’t have the same bogus Supreme Court protection as given to the orange felon. Courageous actions are required!
As far as the felon and his cronies are concerned they are obeying the court order. SCOTUS gave them an out and they're taking it by calling it "foreign policy".
But the court can also try a novel approach to "deputize" state law enforcement, and even normal citizens to bring them in for contempt. Maybe set a bounty?
It’s time for some congressional republicans to switch parties and shift the power back on in Congress. hoping there is a concerted back channel effort to recruit (and guarantee safety) any privately horrified Republicans to convert Congress back into its constitutional role as checks on Executive.
We did great the first time! We MUST to do even better this time! We WILL resist! We have to fight with everything we have! Bring your friends, family & neighbors. Share and make everyone aware.
I don't expect Trump to let his US Marshalls imprison high-ranking officials in his administration, but him refusing to do so would be one more example of just how lawless his regime is.
Eh, it's hard to predict what people's breaking points will be. Might not do much for the general public, but it could convince some powerful people that Trump is dangerous.
Yes, but is John Roberts going to clutch his pearls due to the attempt to nullify the federal judiciary?
He didn’t create the monster, but he gave it full power to go on a seemingly unstoppable rampage.
Then forcibly remove them with plain clothes officers pronouncing nonsense before late night transfers to god knows where.
So they fucking understand 🤬
Since the US Marshalls fall under the corrupt DOJ, I've been wondering how we could create a bounty system to bring these outlaws before the court to answer for their intransigence to a 9-0 Supreme Court order.
I've got to research what powers Scotus ( also corrupt but bound by shame) might have to enforce orders. I just don't see this being the citizens job but I'm probably wrong...although of course there's always 'the help'. I always think of a housekeeper with access to the dictators diet coke.
It's past time for this. The trump regime has totally made a mockery of the justice system. Until we get leaders with a conscience, my guess is that it'll remain that way.
The Contempt of Court used to mean an immediate trip to jail. Why aren't we doing this anymore?
No longer a nation of laws.
The "party of law & order" expects a more selective approach.
Trump can ignore laws & court orders.
Thank GOP party uber alles.
Thank John Roberts and the "conservative" Justices.
Roberts preference for party loyalty over duty to the law created this precarious situation.
The courts can't do it. Congress won't do it. The people must do it, en masse. Trump has already signaled that large protests will be met with military attack. All the top brass are Trump appointees and will issue the orders.
The remaining question is, will rank and file troops obey? In doubt.
And then what?
Hold them in *double* contempt with extra cheese?
They're reminding us that obeying laws is optional, and ultimately laws mean nothing unless there are tangible consequences for breaking them.
Something that all these FAKE republicans have in common that is being used as extortion…..whether it is ballot tampering or threats of losing funding…something missing
Roberts and the Supremes need to get their heads out of their asses and overturn that immunity ruling PRONTO. Is it too much to hope that they'll be pissed off enough that he's ignoring their rulings that they'll reverse course? I can't believe they're willing to give up their power to that moron!
Who enforces court orders or sanctions for contempt? Isn't it the US Marshals Service & isn't the US Marshals Service under the direction of the US Attorney General? I mean you gotta try, but at the end of the day who's gonna *make* these people do anything? This is of course a constitutional crisis
What happens when the president is in contempt of the court? We know that the heads of the military and law enforcement pledged personal loyalty to Trump.
What can the courts do to enforce their decisions?
We already know that he can't be prosecuted for any official actions while he is in office.
Long past the time for a judge to actually hold the Trump administration accountable for ignoring the court’s orders. This should have occurred the very first time that Trump and his lawless lackies failed to comply.
Trump is saying that NO ONE, NO EQUAL BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT, is equal to him or has the authority to tell him what to do--the Supreme Court should be proud of themselves, they finally created someone with perceived super powers, via immunity, he doesn't give a damn about those Justices!
So important. The court has the authority to detain counsel for contempt. That means at tomorrow's hearing, right then and there, escorted to the cells in the basement, if they continue to stonewall. It's long past time for enablers to be given the choice: more lies, or jailtime.
Are the justices even doing anything? They issue a unanimous decision, felon blows it off, and they shrug? If the so-called Supreme Court is a toothless body, shut it down. Quit the pretense, fire the justices & everyone who works there.
SCOTUS missed its chance. Deep down even the conservatives are aware that they already have no power to enforce their rulings, and they're only playing for time. Which only works against them,
YES - this is what I've been asking! Why hasn't the trial judge held someone in contempt? If Noem or Rubio were held in jail until Abrego Garcia is home, you can bet they'd start working on getting him back ASAP.
It is way past time for Congress, DOJ, and those appointed as federal safeguards to ensure disciplinary and corrective action of executive federal employees who are running amuck with irrational actions harmful to the U.S..
How. Courts are defied! Congress will do nothing. The senate will do nothing. The democrats are currently not able to do anything even the ones who actually want to.
How?
The people will have to rise up. It is all that is left. 2026 midterms are likely coming too late.
The depth of dishonor, failure & cruelty of current POTUS, VP & minions has no bottom. A stain on the honor of their families, their party, their communities and our nation. A convicted felon with a lifetime record of dishonor, bankruptcies and failed relationships is ruling #ProtectTheConstitution
Not sure what contempt rulings are going to achieve given that the people in the DoJ that might enforce those rulings answer to the AG who answers to Trump.
Courts are the last true guardrail. If he gets away with this w no REAL tangible consequences, fascism is complete. Nothing & no one will stop forcible suppression of opposition.
Mercenaries will be contracted to kidnap US citzs, transport them (Amazon Prime style) to El Salvador w/ NO due process.
Break out the metal bracelets and drag them into holding cells. I’d bet a couple of them break the moment they find out they have to pee in front of each other.
You all are crying wolf, if they do this if he does that, we are going to file contempt charges. Fucking really? Every fucking day you all say something like this. Fucking do something! For you people who are in power or in the government and do nothing you are guilty as the felon and his minions.
Like now and no waiting on all these courts and this and that stop the motherfuckers today right now in their tracks. They can’t be allowed to continue to kill us. All this fucking waiting on the worthless judges, they also need to be stopped.
Might as well let the DOGE bros have their way with SCOTUS. Apparently it's irrelevant now. Fire 'em all, wait a couple months, put a Spirit Halloween in their building.
Outrageous! Americans, this is your responsibility! How can this be allowed? Are the horrific actions committed by the Nazis not deeply engraved in our hearts and minds, never to be forgotten?
And then what? What happens when the US Marshals refuse to take them in, or rather when Bondi refuses to allow them to do it? The court system doesn’t have its own enforcement mechanism. What happens next?
But SCOTUS is a court of last review. They can’t initiate action like a contempt citation can they? Action would have to be undertaken by the lower courts.
Exactly. Go after whoever has ultimate authority to make decision (presumably Noem). Needs to be fleshed out in a hearing w/witnesses. But reality is, Trump is calling shots. Xinis can enforce her orders thru civil contempt/fines which avoids problem of Trump telling federal marshals to stand down.
I just asked this same question on another page: "As a friend pointed out to me, if he's no longer following the supreme courts orders, then would it be possible his "presidential immunity" can also not be adhered to?"
why do these criminals in the Trump clown show think they enjoy the same immunity as Trump does? did the clown circus aka Roberts court issued an immunity ruling including all of Trump’s clowns?
Time to ensure you have all the necessary IDs and paperwork to vote in your state and federal elections. MAGA is working right now to make it harder, hoping to rig yet another election in their favor. Work against them and help rid the country of this cancer.
This is it. This is the breaking point. We have an administration that won't comply with the court that he largely appointed. There is no more rule of law. Act accordingly.
Oh. Federal judge? Thought they had to use marshals. Well hopefully they do. I see mostly retired older cops in federal court houses. Problem is local police and sheriffs for sure infiltrated too. Why aren't states and cities going after these masked agents kidnapping their residents?
I was hoping marshals who work in the courthouse may have some loyalty to the judge but they work for the DOJ. The same DOJ on trial and that deputized Musk's security team.
I think this ship has sailed. Time for a national strike. Time to go after the republicans that put us here. THEY do not have presidential immunity and they are CLEARLY disobeying their oath of office.

I want them to also feel the fear of being "disappeared" at any moment.
1) Congress passes laws, President enforces them, not Congress - check
2) SCOTUS rules on Constitutionality, President enforces rulings, not SCOTUS - check
3) President is a lawless dictator...
where's the check???

Pipedreams.
there will be no enforcement of any contempt order. people need to move beyond statements like this, we need large scale civil disobedience.
But the court can also try a novel approach to "deputize" state law enforcement, and even normal citizens to bring them in for contempt. Maybe set a bounty?
We did great the first time! We MUST to do even better this time! We WILL resist! We have to fight with everything we have! Bring your friends, family & neighbors. Share and make everyone aware.

The last stop: The Court-the Rule of Law.
Beyond it, the tracks vanish, replaced by-the Law of Rule. Danger ahead!
The question remains—will the brakes hold, or is America merely along for the ride?
And, it is immune for official acts. (Thank you, #scotus.)
But, I'm sure We'll see an #impeachment, and removal (this time)... tomorrow.
The Contempt of Court used to mean an immediate trip to jail. Why aren't we doing this anymore?

disregarded a court order …
Who thinks they would just be permitted to go on
about their business …
as if nothing happened?
#handsoff

Bring them in.
Lock them up for contempt.
Repeat for attrition.
Bounty hunters, bail bondsmen?
What about state level officers?
Those in violation of the orders need to be locked up in contempt.

Despite being a union busting scuzbag Trump seems to have the backing of the cops
But apparently something like the 'bystander effect' or 'who is going to bell the cat' is above even the law, and oaths.
Actually Hitler could learn from Trump. Law in Hitler's Germany was skewed, but courts were obeyed
Supreme decision was unanimous.
Garcia must be returned to the US.
Trump told them to fuck off instead.
Is the rule of law officially dead?
does not mean what a lot of folks are assuming. SCOTUS purposefully used that word to give Trump permission to keep doing what he is
Isn't that the problem???
Enforcement...
But good luck with that.
