LA is by far the largest urban area on earth that’s ~100% car’d up, it’s insane that it’s even possible to get that big and that dense and have almost everybody still drive almost everywhere.

The car-orientation of Cairo’s built environment is only skin-deep…it has nowhere near as much parking, road capacity, or low-density development as LA. With a little bit of street redesigning it would be just like Europe.

Shocking to me that New York's modeshare is only 25% public transit but I suspect it's the metro area not the city proper
